Caring for your flowers

Follow these instructions to get the most from your arrangements!

  1. Start with a clean vase: Before adding any flowers, make sure the vase or container is thoroughly cleaned to prevent the growth of bacteria.

  2. Cut the stems: Using sharp scissors or shears, cut about 1-2 inches off the stems at a 45-degree angle. This helps the flowers absorb water more easily.

  3. Remove leaves: Remove any leaves that will be submerged in water to prevent them from decaying and contaminating the water.

  4. Use clean water: Fill the vase with clean, room temperature water. Change the water every 2-3 days to prevent the growth of bacteria.

  5. Add flower food: Flower food packets contain nutrients and additives that can help extend the life of your cut flowers. Follow the instructions on the packet and add the recommended amount to the water.

  6. Keep them cool: Flowers last longer in cooler temperatures, so avoid placing them in direct sunlight or near heat sources.

  7. Trim the stems regularly: Every time you change the water, trim the stems again to keep them fresh and prevent blockages in the stems.

  8. Watch for wilting: Remove any flowers or leaves that show signs of wilting or decay to prevent the spread of bacteria.

By following these tips, you can help your cut flowers last longer and stay looking beautiful for as long as possible.

Planted arrangements:

Potted arrangements require regular watering, but the frequency and amount of water needed can vary depending on the type of plants in the arrangement, the size of the pot, and the environment. Generally, you want to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Avoid letting the soil completely dry out, as this can harm the plants.

Potted arrangements can be sensitive to temperature changes. Keep them in a location with consistent temperatures, away from drafts or temperature extremes. Avoid placing them near windows or doors that may be opened frequently.

Regular pruning can help keep the plants in the arrangement healthy and promote new growth. Remove any dead or dying foliage, and trim back any overgrown branches or stems.

By following these care tips, you can help your potted arrangement thrive and stay beautiful for as long as possible.

Arrangements in floral foam:

Floral foam arrangements require regular watering to keep the foam moist and the flowers hydrated. Add water to the foam daily or as needed to keep it moist. Make sure to add water slowly and carefully to avoid disturbing the arrangement. You can also mist the flowers with water to help keep them hydrated.

Placement: Place the floral foam arrangement in a cool location, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or cold drafts. Avoid placing it near a window with direct sunlight or near appliances that generate heat, like ovens or heaters.

By following these care tips, you can help your floral foam arrangement stay beautiful and healthy for as long as possible.
